I the long run

Yesterday I did a 20 mile long run, I felt pretty good for the first 10 miles and then I started to crash a little bit. I realized at about mile 13 that it was 90 degrees, with a ton of humidity and I hadn't had any water since I left the house.

I stopped at a bank and got some water around mile 14, but I was already pretty dehydrated. The rest of the run was a little rough, but I made it through. 9:45 mins/ mile

The next big event is the Portland half marathon, which is tomorrow. I would like to run it in sub 1:45 but we will see what happens and how I feel.

This is me running the bayshore marathon...

Races this season

So after much thought I have decided to start a blog, I'll try and post as much as I can this season. I have kind of a crazy running schedule this fall, I am going to do 3 marathons during the month of October. The Chicago, Detroit and Grand Rapids marathons... And maybe an ultra in November...

The goal of all of this is to have some fun, do some races, test a 'new' running form, and see how much my body and mind can really take.

Last week I ran 52 miles with a long run of 18 (with 4 more about an hour after). I took Monday off and I ran a really fast (for me) 8 miles today (I did it in about an hour).

My plan for the week is to run about 40-45 miles and run the Portland Half Marathon in Portland, MI. I have never been to Portland, nor had I any want to go but this race came up and I will be there for it.

More later this week...
